My dog

She was a really good friend
Right through to the end
Seemed she was always by my side.

With her head in my lap
To take her last nap
She couldn’t get closer if she tried.

As I said my good byes
I could see in her eyes
It was time for her journey to start

As I walked out the door
I scolded her once more
For leaving paw prints all over my heart
