THE EAGLE

If I could choose any bird in the sky
The mighty Eagle I would be.
Then I could say to all passers by
The bird of the nation that’s me.

I am the bird of the nation
The most powerful nation on earth.
I am the bird of the nation
That trusted in God since its birth.

With wind under my mighty wings I soar
From sea to shining sea.
I am the bird of the nation
Watching over the land of the free.

I am the bird of the nation
From the valleys to the heavens above.
And I say to those that question my strength
I am an Eagle not a Dove.

And I will defend this nation
From within and from abroad.
I am the bird of the nation
One nation under God.
